Kaufman Fund and VFW 3944 Food For Vets Event May 2024
Today (Saturday, May 4th, 2024) volunteers with the Kaufman Fund and VFW Post 3944 partnered in Overland on this month’s Food For Vets event. These events provide food for veterans and veteran families in need throughout the St. louis area. Thanks to the hard work of the volunteers and the donations from local organizations and businesses today’s event provided food for about 120 veterans and their families.
These events are remarkable examples of efficiency, empathy, and community. Such a great group of volunteers helping a great cause thanks to support from great organizations and businesses. It’s always awesome to help people, but having fun doing it is even better. That’s what you can expect if you volunteer for Kaufman Fund events.

The Kaufman Fund holds Food For Vets events semi-regularly throughout the St. Louis area. Then next one will be at the Salvation Army in O’Fallon on July 19th, 1:00PM - 2:30PM (map). They also co-host a monthly meeting called VetNet Connect with American Legion Post 397 on the third Friday of each month, 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM (map). The next one will be on May 17th, 2024. This regular event brings together local businesses and organizations that help local veterans. It’s an awesome opportunity for networking and collaboration on projects and programs that support our local vets.
One of the biggest things the Kaufman Fund does is provide grants to help organizations, and programs that support local veterans fund new ideas and programs. You can see a list of the 2023 grant recipients here. This support has helped many local groups start up programs that support veterans and their families.
