The Wurst Bavarian Band - Plays Overland's FREE Concert in the Park

  • Norman Myers Park 8700 Midland Boulevard Overland, MO, 63114 United States (map)

Weather permitting, The Wurst Bavarian Band will be performing live at Overland Parks and Recreation's next FREE Concert in the Park on Wednesday, October 11th, 6 PM - 8 PM at Norman Myers Park.

Born out of Ritenour High School Band’s cultural exchange program with the Städtische Musikschule Dingolfing (Dinglofing Municipal Music School) under Band Director Hadley Haux (now retired), The Wurst Bavarian Band began playing for audiences at the Ferguson Farmer’s Market German Day in 2011 with Hadley (Euphonium) and Mary Haux (Clarinet) and Ritenour Alumni Charles Wilkes (Tuba), Dustin Shrum (Trumpet) and Kwanae Johnson (Saprono Saxaphone).

The Hauxes, Dustin, and Charles along with current members Stephanie Shrum (Clarinet) and another Ritenour alum A.J. Wilkes (Drums) have been playing their library of Tazlmusik (Dance music) all around the St. Louis Metro at various Polka Parties, Maifests, Summerfests, Germanfests, Wurstfests, and Oktoberfest celebrations in their Trachten(Costumes) of Lederhosen (Leather Pants) and Dirndls (Dresses).

Come enjoy Oompah music and toast to Gemütlichkeit (Warm feelings of fellowship). Why see the best when you can see The Wurst?

Bring your lawn chairs, beverages (no glass containers please), snacks, friends, and families to enjoy these outstanding performers at Overland’s first nod to Oktoberfest!
