The Overland Lions Club's 84th annual Fair is coming to Overland, Missouri this week at Norman Myers Park (near I-170 and Midland Blvd.)!
It’s going to be another great one with some really great weather (if the current forecasts hold up). We've always enjoyed going to the fair both sometimes with the kids and sometimes without. The rides are always fun as are all the games.
Bring your appetite with you because it wouldn't be a fair with out all the great food options like funnel cakes, shaved ice, nachos, turkey legs, shish kabobs, tacos, and much, much more (not a good week for the scale at our house)!
Let’s not forget the entertainment with two great bands playing this year in the Beer Garden!
This Year's Fair Hours:
Thursday, August 22nd - 5PM - 10PM
Friday, August 23rd - 5PM - Midnight
Saturday, August 24th - Noon - Midnight
Sunday, August 25th - Noon - 10 PM
Tickets and Armbands:
They’re approaching ticket and arm bands a little differently this year. This is being done in the hopes that it will speed up the entry lines so people can get to the fun much faster. Here’s what we know so far:
Armbands (for unlimited use of the rides for one person during the days and hours listed):
Armbands will be available on Thursday (for use from 5PM to 10 PM) for $35.00.
Armbands will be available on Saturday and Sunday (for use from Noon to 6 PM) for $40.00.
Tickets (for use on rides (most rides require multiple tickets)):
For a group with 1-3 children (ages 6-20) - 22 Ride Tickets for $25.00
For a grouo with 4+ children (ages 6-20) - 45 Ride Tickets for $50.00
Additionally, Children ages 5 and below and adults ages 21 and over can enter the fair from free (though 21+ adults will still need tickets if they want to enjoy the rides and children under 6 need adult supervision).
Bands and Entertainment:
Friday Night: Blackdog and the Rainmakers - A classic rock powerhouse of a band that’s been playing for over 31 years and have cut several albums together. From their website: “Treat yourself to a crisp, tight well mixed evening of surprising classics. Every show is different, picking from over 1000 songs amassed over a lifetime of performances. One show and you will be hooked.”
Here’s a peak at them in action:
Saturday Night: NeXchapter - These guys rocked the fair last year and they had so much fun doing it they’re coming back to do it again! From their website: “A cover band that believes a good time is the only kind to have”.
Here’s a fan made sample of them in action that we found:
Sunday Night: two different DJs
The Overland Lions Fair has been an Overland institution that’s not just a great time for local families, it also supports a great local organization and numerous local and international charity efforts. Don't miss all this year's Lions Fair has to offer and all the fun to be had with family, friends, and neighbors! I hope to see you all there this weekend!
