We’ve all seen the way the local real estate market in our area has been going and Brian Monday of Monday Homes, Monday Properties LLC, and Monday Restaurants has as well. Brian is an entrepreneur, a builder, and an investor who has taken notice of the value of Overland and he’s investing here. He sees many benefits to the Overland area from its perfect “central location” to the “small town feel of the community”. His “gut feeling”, supported by a deep market analysis, tells him Overland Missouri is headed for a “new golden age” and he plans to be a big part of it.
Brian Monday has three primary indicators that drive his investments, including those in our area. The potential profitability of the venture is of course the first factor. However, he’s also insistent on building top-quality and innovative properties with an eye on the legacy he leaves behind. His two recent new home builds on Echo Lane (9434 and 9436) are testaments to all three. He’s also a touch sentimental, as he includes the same simple, but elegant light fixture somewhere in every home as a physical manifestation of his focus on quality and legacy.
Brian is becoming active in our community as well. In June of this year, he spoke at the Overland Business Association (OBA) meeting. There he talked about his belief in the future of the Overland area, as well as his approach to building quality homes. Mr. Monday currently has several single-family homes and some condominium and multi-family projects in the works in Overland. While he’s open to rehab and commercial opportunities, his passion is new residential construction. He loves to produce top-quality homes that maximize the use of the limited lot space common in our area to best serve hard working families. Though he started working on homes in Overland in 2022, he’s already rehabbed three homes and built two new ones. Currently he’s building two more new construction homes and has three other projects in the works as well.
Brian’s other passion is restaurants and entertainment venues. From running them to building them he has 17 years of experience in this industry, and he knows what can work where. While he’s currently focused on homes, he may bring these talents to Overland as well if the right opportunity comes up. Currently he’s exploring a west coast franchise that he’s confident would excel here.
Brian Monday is a welcome addition to our area. His investments benefit us all now, but it’s his expertise, his passion for quality, and his vision of a new golden age in Overland that will benefit us long into the future. Brian Monday’s bio:
Brian grew up in the St. Louis area and is a graduate of the De Smet Jesuit High School in Creve Coeur where he spent four years as the varsity Goalkeeper for the Spartans Soccer team (the 1997 State Champions). While there he also volunteered regularly with several organizations including Big Brothers Mentorship program. After graduating he attended the University of Missouri with a focus on Accounting, then the Lee Business School at the University of Las Vegas where he graduated with a B.S. in Business / Accounting in 2004. After graduation Brian stayed in Las Vegas working as an accountant for PWC on numerous Casino accounts before he decided this just wasn’t the right path for him. He wanted to build things. In 2006 he returned to St. Louis and started to apply his education and experience to the restaurant industry. He started out working for others, but went on to become an owner himself and start Monday Restaurants a little over 17 years ago. His company is a diversified firm that owns restaurants, invests in others, and consults with more. It’s his experience in market analysis, as well as his passion for building, that brought Overland to Brian’s attention.
